New Year's Day, London Style

First off, Happy New Year!!!

It's been a hectic and fun-filled year for us - looking back at the posts on this blog over the year, I can't believe how much we've done. 2009 looks like it's going to be another busy one, with moving into our new flat top of the list of exciting things to look forward to.

We had a quiet New Year's last night - with somewhere in the region of 800,000 people cramming themselves into central London for the fireworks and festivities, and local bars and restaurants charging exhorbitant prices for crap food and a glass of champagne, we decided to stay in for the evening.

Today we went to Christies for New Year's Brunch, which ended up being breakfast food for lunch. We had a excellent time, topping off the evening with a curry at Haweli's up the road from our flat.

We also determined that Jamie and Ken should not be on the same team for games. We played a new game that I got Jamie for Christmas called "Articulate", which is sort of like Pictionary, only just descriptions, no drawing.

Ken had the word "Winston Churchill". His clue to Jamie was "The first Prime Minister". Jamie guessed Winston Churchill immediately. Either they're cheating, or both think Churchill was the actual first prime minister. Either way, teams need to be mixed up going forward (plus they are the two most competative people in all of Britain, possibly in Europe).

Hope your New Year was fun and festive, and all the rest of it.
