Mmmmm...we headed out on a glorious Saturday. Our goal: gather yummy stuff for a dinner picnic chez nous. The only place to head to was Borough Market near London Bridge.
We wandered around trying cheese, cheese and more cheese. Have we mentioned how much we love cheese?
We picked up some beautiful carrots, asparagus, and mushrooms for our steak picnic. Mmmmmm...
We then headed out to a wine bar in the sun and enjoyed a few glasses of wine and guiness, with 6 oysters and some scallops. So fresh and so delicious. The sun was wonderful and we headed to the river for another bottle. After that is was home to give the monkeys a bath and relax.
Sunday, Christie took us to the Columbia Road Flower Market, but unfortunately it just poured rain. So we were forced to take refuge in a couple pubs for the afternoon in Hopelessly Trendy Shoreditch (East London).

Highgate to Hampstead Walk
Hello all!
Spring is in the air, and so Scott and I thought it would be good to get out of the flat and get some fresh air. I have always wanted to see Hampstead Heath so I got out the London Walks book that John gave us for Christmas and found the perfect walk and convinced Scott we should do it...but I forgot to mention to him that it was 10 km long!! Ha.
So we headed out this morning, me in my runners and Scott in his fancy new shoes. Ooops...maybe should have told him...but I didnt notice until we were already on the road!
We started off at Archway tube stop and walked by the freaky Highgate Cemetary. It seems that alot of graves are not being kept up as well as others. This is the graveyard where Karl Marx, father of communism is buried.
We continued along the high street and came to the Old Gateway pub, which stands on one of the three gates tat led to the park that the Bishop of London used to own. We enjoyed a pint and moved on to Hampstead Heath.
I was expecting Hampstead Heath to be like the other lovely parks we've been to here in London. But it is actually much more rustic, not tended to it seems. The Kenwood house is here, which houses an art gallery and also where we enjoyed a yummy lunch. This is also where we discovered that we cannot follow a map. We spent half the day getting lost hahahaha...
After lunch we wandered through the Heath (which is 800 acres!!!) over to Parliament Hill for a great panaramic view over London. We then headed into Hampstead. We loved this area. Great views, crazy little winding lanes, and great pubs. We stopped twice, once right outside the park, and another time at a great pub in a small neighbourhoud. I love how they have pubs in residential areas here.
By this point we were getting a bit tired, and poor Scott's feet were getting a bit sore. We decided to head to the Hampstead tube stop but got side tracked by a steak restaurant we'd heard a lot about, Gauchos. Its an Argentinian steak place, and lets just I had the best steak I have ever had...it melted in my mouth...YUM!
From there is was home to Clapham and a night of relaxing.

Our House - April 2008
Hello there,
We've had another busy week, Scott has been working late and I finally got home to London on Thursday night. Today we went to visit our new place and take some more pictures. It's not going to be ready until Spring 2009 but we were excited to see that we had a balcony! Soon we will get to pick out the colours etc so thats exciting too.
It was 17 degrees on Friday...absolutely beautiful, everyone out and about in the spring sunshine. And this is what we woke up to this Sunday:
