First UK Drive

Rented a car today to take the dogs out to a kennel for our Italy trip.

I did great pulling out of the Budget rental car park and managed to turn left into the correct lane. Things were going fantastically for 200 yards until I ran into a bus. Damn Brits driving on the wrong side.

Fortunately I just sorta clipped it and took off the passenger side mirror. Took me pretty much all day of driving to get used to the whole bulk of the car being off the left, not the right like I'm used to...

Not sure if I'll be driving much...good thing we got the extra insurance...

(seriously...I ran into a bus.)

Come on Scotty. You hit a bus? I can relate though - when I first started driving in Tasmania, I was pretty cautious in the cities, but out in the country things were cool. I imagine driving in London, where there is slightly more people, would be a bit different than sleepy Hobart. Hope the trip around Italy with Mum & Dad is going well.

Oh dear!! I drove on the wrong side of the road when I was first here - fortunately that was business trip to Salmon Arm which was dead anyway.

Was the bus driver nice about it?

Dont worry -did that in Australia. Missed the car but my passengers shit there pants. They screamed like school girls and grabbed the wheel wich allowed us to escape with our lives. They never let me drive for the next two month wich meant I could drink beer all day while they drove. So there was an upside.
